House renovations -- PICS and a question
Here are some pics of the work we've been doing on the new house...
(Pics in my album)
My questions-- with my red dining room, do you think I can do a pale yellow kitchen? (It is already a fairly bright yellow and my SO won't change the wallpaper border just yet--so we're kind of stuck.
The den, kitchen and dining room are three rooms all in a row with big entryways. For the den, which is currently brown w a red accent wall, I wanted to do a sagey green, but don't want it to look Christmas-y.
The dining room is Benjamin Moore Raspberry Truffle and the den could possibly be Behr "restful" Raspberry Truffle
Here is Pale Honey, possibly for the kitchen (between the dining room and the den.)
Pale Honey
Restful
Or, should I just go with another beige-y color?
TIA!!!

I don't think it would look christmasy. I actually really like the sound of the color combination. Very colonial/antique.

Re: House renovations -- PICS and a question
Thank you, Rachel!
I think we are going to go with Behr Pale Honey in the kitchen... I think that will go nicely...
We got the samples from Home Depot, our home away from home. Hopefully we will make a decision tomorrow.
I can't wait to be DONE with these renovations!

Re: House renovations -- PICS and a question
I have Rasberry Truffle in my DR and Dorset Gold in my kitchen. I think it flows well since they are both warm colors.

Re: House renovations -- PICS and a question
I have a raspberry truffle DR. I was afraid to paint any kind of green in my kitchen (next room, visible of course from the DR). I was afraid of it looking to xmasy.
So I painted a taupey gray, Edgecomb Gray. LOVE it. Perfect combination with the Rasp truffle.

Re: House renovations -- PICS and a question
I would paint the kitchen one shade darker than the bottom part of dining room.
What is the room next to the DR that has the tan chair rail? Is that the room you were thinking of painting green? I think you go green I would pick one that was warmer and had some gray in it. Something like olive branch by BM. I think the color you picked is too minty.

That room is the living room. That one is done--the den is the one we want to paint.
I just made a layout pic (I know, I'm crazy!!)
The Living Room is cream/brownish tan.
The dining room is Raspberry Truffle and the cream on the bottom.
The kitchen is currently yellow. SO won't let me take down the rooster wallpaper border which limits the kitchen colors to yellows or tans I guess...
we were thinking of making the den green. You can see it from the dining room but it is two rooms away.
Decisions, decisions... I like the olive branch... I think another trip to the paint store is in order!

Are you painting your kitchen? If so, why won't SO let you take down the border? You might as well do it while you are working on the kitchen, unless he really likes it.

He likes it!!! I also think he's tired of painting and wallpaper removal. I said he could keep it until we redo the kitchen... He unfortunately has very 80s taste--if it were up to him, everything would be chrome and mirrors!
We actually have to paint the kitchen soon.. the walls are very dirty and it looks bad, especially after painting everything else!!

Everything looks fantastic!!! Love the blue in the bedroom!
I'd do the green for the den like you're leaning towards.
