Housewarming Gift?
I need to get a friend a housewarming gift but I only want to spend about $20. Any ideas?

Re: Housewarming Gift?
Home Depot Gift certificate is always great.
My Dad used to give American Flags. No new homeowner thinks of it until the morning of July 4th. I know Home Depot has sets.
Flower bulbs with some gardening tools.
Monogrammed welcome mat.
ETA: I would only give alcohol if you know they drink. One of our neighbors gave us a bottle of tequila and another a bottle of vodka. My DH rarely even drinks beer, maybe a few a year. I had to give them away because we would never use them as our family doesn't drink hard liquor either.

I think the flower bulbs is a great idea. Maybe in a cute basket with one of those foam mats to kneel on an a shovel? I would have loved that when I moved into my house. And Perennials are the gift that keeps giving. Tulips are really easy to care for and come up without fail

Re: Housewarming Gift?
If it is a new home for a married couple I always think something personalized with their last name is nice... other wise you can never go wrong with the wine. I've seen people put in a small basket a bottle of wine, salt and bread with a small framed saying ..something like bread so you never go hungry, salt so you'll have good luck and wine so you'll never be thirsty... there is definitely other variations of that....

Re: Housewarming Gift?
I think a gift card to home depot is a great idea, or Bed bath and beyond. Those were my fave gifts when we moved in.
Otherwise I think a Welcome mat with their last name would be nice.
Since it's winter, and if they came from a place where they didnt have to shovel...A nice shovel and some rock salt would be a cute idea. It is something I didnt think of getting until it had snowed already.
