housewarming gift for kids and mom?
DH's cousin is having a housewarming party this weekend and we want to get each family member something special (aside from gift cards and wine). We're getting the dad a Home Depot gift card, but for everyone else we want to bring them something nice. It's special for the kids because they've had to share a room in an apartment for a while, and now they're excited to have their own bedrooms.
We're stuck on gifts for: -The little girl (8 or 9 years old) -The little boy (10 or 11 years old) -Mom
Oh, and nothing personalized, because we don't have time to order it.
Any ideas appreciated. TIA!

Re: housewarming gift for kids and mom?
off the top of my head...
- kids... sheets for their bed... something they are into... animals, dinosaurs, etc
- kids... an alarm clock
- kids... go to a craft store and get them a do it yourself kit... I was at AC Moore this weekend and they had stuff like decorate your own pillow case; photo frame; bird house; and so on.
- kids... doorknob hangers... like at BRU they have "Princess Sleeps" or "Prince Rests"
- kids... depending on their names Marshalls in Stony Brook always has personalized items but it luck. I was there last week and they had a ton of stuff with the name "EMMA" on it.
- kids... AC Moore sold individual letters. You can get them their names to place on their door or a wall in their room.
- Mom gift... a spa gift certificate... she'll appreciate it after the move! Or a gift certificate to a home store like Homegoods.
- Family gift... get a basket of sorts and create a "family gift basket"... in it you can place the gift card to Home Depot; a gift card to Friendly's/Movies/etc; classic family games like scrabble, jenga, monopoly, etc; snacks like popcorn, candy, etc
Hope this helps. If you knew there room themes we could probably come up with more.
