How accurate are the digital HPT's???
My friend is a week late, she is on the pill, and she took a HPT last Sunday that came up negative. Her periods have always been erratic though, even while on BC. Do you think that the test is accurate (First REsponse - the one with the 2 lines) or should she take a digital? Are the digital's more accurate? THANK YOU!!!

if her cycles are all over the place.. i would just take the FRER for now.. see what that comes up.. then if she sees a line to take the digitals!

Yep - Makes me wonder about these girls I wirk with  I LOVE THEM!!!!
She took a regular first response (teh one with the 2 lines) last Sunday and nothing cam eup - just the one control line. Now my OTHER friend had an extra digital at the office - hhhmmm... I just have potato chips in MY desk drawers  - so she just went to take it!!!

if it was me... i still probably would take the FRER.. its many days later.. AND its more sensitive..
like maybeamommy said.. PIAC so she can do the FR first.. then the digital if she sees a line..
but she CAN take the digital.. but if it comes up not pregnant.. there still could be a chance that she IS on a FRER... kwim?

SERIOUSLY???? Cause the digital said NOT PREGNANT. So she should take another First Response too you think? I will tell her!!!!

So let's pretend that FRER detects an HCG level of 25... the digital might only detect a level of 40 (No idea what the real number is).
So she could have an HCG level of 30 and get a "not pregnant" on a digital, but still get 2 lines on an FRER... make sense?

YUP... that happened to me !!
i too the FRER got a faint line..
same urine sample dipped the digital.. and said not pregnant..
there was just not enough HCG to detect it!

WOW!! THANK YOU!!! I will tell her to test tomorrow morning iwth the FREF. I just thought the digitals are more sensitive. You guys are the best - THANK YOU!!!!

Me too except mine was with different urine sample got the negative a day later than the positive but neither was with FMU
