How big of a turkey do I need for 11 people?
I just made a practice turkey for 4 people which was 11lbs and we had leftovers but not that much

depends if u want leftovers for 11 adults and have leftovers and people are big eaters
is 24 lbs

it all depends if that's the only meat you are serving or how many side dishes you have.
I would think 15-18 pounds. I still think you would have leftovers. But some people like just white meat, so if you want you could make another breast.

I agree.
I typically have about 25 people for Thanksgiving every year and find that a 19-22lb turkey is more than enough. I send everyone home with leftovers.

You can't go by us...Even when I lived home & we had only 4 of us, we got a 20lb turkey.
This year we are having 8 adults & I am getting a 25lb turkey....We love the leftovers!!!

Hehe! There are 6 adults at my house and we get about a 25lb Turkey

That seems small for 11 people
We're only having 6 of us and we're getting an 18lb. turkey.

you can also go to foodnetwork.com. they have a calculator and they estimate the cooking time based on when you want it to be ready by.

I think it depends on your hosting philosophy. I hosted last Thanksgiving with 8 pap we did a 25lb turkey and had many many MANY sides. We had a lot left over but we purposely made way more of everything then we needed so we could spend lots of leftovers home. I know how much I love leftovers from Thanksgiving and when you go to someone else's house you miss out on that so we made sure everybody had atleast 2 meals and a few lunches worth of food. HTH

I am having 11 ppl and I ordered a 20-22 lb. turkey. Butcher said i would be good with 18-20, but I opted to go up a little. I love Thanksgiving leftovers and since it is at my house this year, I get to keep all of them!!!
