How can I get a 5 week old to go to sleep earlier?
Maddie would not go to sleep until 1:30 am. She usually goes down at 11 (although I'd still like it to be earlier). I nurse her, we swaddle, and do the hair dryer trick and usually it works, but last night NOTHING worked. She's impossible to put to bed. What are your routines? TIA

At 5 weeks, I think that you have to follow her lead. But for us, we started doign a bedtime routine at about 12 weeks and tried to get him to go to bed at about 7.30.
At 5 weeks, I think you have to let her stay up until you go to bed.

I think at 5 weeks she is still calling the shots. It is a little too soon to try and get her on a schedule. It gets better and better though

Thats our situation as well. I was starting to worry that it would be a long term problem or I was doing something wrong. Good to see that it's pretty normal.

we had the same issue. now at 8 weeks, we start her bedtime routine at 10, she's out by 10:30ish and she will sleep until 6-7. prior to that, DD would be awake until 3am every night .

EEEKKK! 4:30! OMG. Well, we think that she was hot, so we took her jammies off and she was in her onesie. The only thing that kept me from pulling my hair out was looking at her little arms and legs! OMG, they are so cute and fat...lol. I guess cause I don't get to see them that much but she is just soo adorable in her onesie

Re: How can I get a 5 week old to go to sleep earlier?
I usually give DD a bath around 6:30 and by 8 or even earlier she is sleeping... I put her in her crib around 8:30 and she USUALLY goes back to sleep after every feeding...
