How can I get a burnt smell out of my dishwasher from a plastic item that dropped onto the coils?
One of DDs plastic items fell onto the coils of the dishwasher. It still has a burny smell however it just happened yesterday.
Will the smell come out as I keep using the dishwasher? Anything i can use to speed up the process of getting rid of the burnt smell?

Oh, yes, I've BTDT! It goes away! Just run another load or two. You can also try using a little vinegar in the soap department and run an empty load.

This has happened to me numerous times. 
I usually just let it air out or run an empty load.
