How can I help my son sit up?
Is it too early to help or guide him to sit up? He was 3 months old last Friday. He can sit up for a bit if I put him in the corner of the sofa or on my bed propped up by pillows but after a few minutes if he's wiggly he'll fall over (which I think is so funny to watch - I don't think he appreciates me laughing though!). Can I use the boppy pillow to help him? Are there any exercises? Or should I first wait until he can roll over first? I have been doing some exercises with him on that but being a working mom it's hard to get that time in to do that nightly. Thank you!

Wait....most children don't sit up on there own until 6 months.....he will probably work on rolling over first.

Still very early to be sitting up on his own. My DD is 6 months old and can only sit up if she's in the boppy. She's getting better, but working on it. I wouild let him play on the floor and build muscle strength by letting him learn to roll over.

Yeah, too early!! He doesnt have the stomach muscles to sit up yet. Give him another 2-3 months.

It's still early. DS is 5 months and still doesn't sit up on his own.

I agree with everyone that it's way too early to expect him to sit up. From my own experience with my kids, the more belly time, the more muscle development. I personally think the Bumbos are the worst thing for encourages stomach muscles since it's not a natural position for them to be in (sorry Bumbo owners).

Boo hiss, you mean Romans Bumbo wasn't what helped him sit on his own at 4 months?

put the boppy pillow around him and that will support his back.
