How crazy is this?
I met a girl last night who was almost 6 months pregnant before she realized it!!! She was on BCP and Aunt Flo kept coming. Then all of a sudden she gained a bunch of weight and her stomach popped.
The baby was born 5 weeks early, she tells everyone she had the worlds shortest pregnancy! The baby was born with a kidney problem but the doctor didn't really thinnk it had to do with anything.

I have heard of this...a woman I know was on BCP and she had a stomachache and a "lump" in her stomach. When she went for a sono they found out she was PG...and she isn't even a kid (37)...go figure...the baby is 6 months old now and seems to be fine.

Wow, that's pretty nuts. A co-worker of mine didn't know that she was pregnant until she was in her 2nd trimester as well, because AF kept coming, too.
Is there any research as to why this happens to some women?

Wow - I cant even imagine that! But Im obsessed over every little symptom so there is no way a "lump" would go unnoticed!

I'm guessing because pg symptoms are pretty much the same as AF symptoms most of the time... and once we see red, we naturally think that the symptoms were due to AF.

Though as Kathy said, I think I am so obessive and convince myself I AM PG (when I'm not  ) that this would never ever happen to me

Same for my friends boss. She didn't know she was preggo until her water broke!! She was at work, and had NO CLUE what was happening to her.

Years ago (I just graduated from high school) I was waitressing at Friendly's and woman who worked there said she didn't know she was preggos with her first until near the end. As an 18 year old I remember thinking... "HUH?"

THAT is the part that always makes me go WOW .. in this day and age when we are all SO PREPARED for when a baby arrives, I could 't fathom coming home from the hospital with a baby and not even knowing you were PG the past 9 months
Well obviously our good friend Don turned out well so here is proof postive these things DO happen and turn out well in the end

I wish I could say that this belly I have grown in the last couple of months was because I was preggo and didn't know it - BUT it is just fat!

My best friend had AF for two months while she was prego and didn't know it. I should add that she's also the little voice whispering in my ear every month when I have a "strange" cramp or my tummy looks a little too bloated...
