very cute, although, I think these would make my DS notice the outlets more and he would try his hardest to remove them

I agree about making them more attractive to little hands. Also, if they just plug into the outlets, the ones with the protruding pieces (ship mast, for example), give a wonderful leverage handle to make it easier to pull off.
