How did you break the news to your job

And how did it go over with management? I do not know why, but I am so nervous to tell my job...TIA

Also, when did you tell your job that you were expecting?

Re: How did you break the news to your job

tell them i was pg or going on maternity leave. Honestly I never told management i was pg, i let them figure that out for themselves. Regarding maternity leave, i just informed them on Friday that I am giving them 30 day notice and that my last day in the office (for maternity leave) will be Sept 15. They couldn't say or do much. They just requested that I supply a doctors note and fill out all appropriate forms.

I am only 7 weeks along and told my manager. Although we do not have to inform them by law, I felt I needed to inform him being I am suffernig from some nausea and dizziness off and on, in case I need to take come in late, etc. He was fine. They cannot do anything with your job legally. I do not think you should worry!

I sort of blurted it out.
i was only 7 weeks.
but we were doing a trade show- usually that comes w/ a lot of heavy lifting so I had to say something.

I think i said, "i'm a little bit pregnant right now"

same with me. I was suppose to take a client's suitcase down to a car, I said I can't. Banker was silent on the phone, I said can't carry a suitcase, I am carrying a baby. he said congrats.

Re: How did you break the news to your job

I told my boss, who is a very senior partner, when I was around 8 weeks or so. I was put on bedrest and he was very concerned for me, so I had to tell him. He is happy for me, but nervous that I will be out for 3 months.
