How did you know you were in labor?

How did you know when labor was starting for you? Did you have any clues a few days or hours before it started?

With my son, I had a feeling i was going into labor soon because I just wasn't feeling well for a few days, I felt like I had PMS sorta. With my daughter, I had no clue, I just woke up at 3am and thought it was indigestion, all the sudden I realized that they were actually labor pains...

I woke up really early in the morning ( much earlier then I would ever normally get up lol) and I was having contractions!!!! They were only every 10 -15 min so I ran to my Dr. and had an exam and he told me most likely by tomorrow morning you will be ready. and told me to call him when the contractions got close together.
I was having contractions for 24 hours before they were actually close enough that I had to go to the hospital

ps. My mom kept telling me it would be time when either I was peeing every 5 seconds, or when my water broke...
None of that stuff ever happened!!!

I had very light cramps that kept me awake for the entire night, by the time 5:00 am rolled around they were getting pretty intense and consistent. I called my mom and asked her what I should do, she told me call the doctor!
So I did and met him at the hospital, which then my contractions stopped, but they kept me there and waited and waited, they finally broke my water which started the contractions back up again.

I woke to use the bathroom at 2 AM, and I lost my mucus plug and contractions started at about 5-6 minutes apart.

The day before I went into labor I felt awful - flu-like and just "off". I went to the doc b/c Ava was late and they hooked me up to the fetal monitor and I was having contractions every 3 minutes but they weren't painful. The nurse basically told me that I was in pre-labor and that this time tomorrow I'd have a baby.

Fast forward to that night I woke up at 2am with a pain in my back that wrapped to my belly but not painful - 2 hours later my water broke and took a shower, called the doc and got to the hospital and had a baby!!!

I don't think I AM in labor, I think I'm getting clues that it might be coming soon though!

I had light spotting for 3 days in a row and I've been having much stronger contractions more often.

I didnt notice anything different, then suddenly these horrible cramps..they to me were not like the contractions I had been having...they were about 10x worse and they just progressed.

I started loosing my mucus plug on a Sunday. I also started having contractions that were 8-10 mins for 2 or 3 hours and then they would stop. Then I woke up Tuesday morning at 6am with contractions 7-8 min apart. That lasted until 11am when I called my doctor and they told me to go to the hospital. When I got to the hospital at 2:30pm, I was already almost 5cm dialated.

The contractions were bearable with breathing or if I was moving around. They didn't become unbearable until they broke my water and gave me pitocin.

I realized it when I was able to time the contractions as they became more stronger.

My water broke and within an hour light contractions started less than 5 minutes apart. I had no clue - I had just come home from work - -I was three weeks early. Even that morning at work people said my belly didn't drop enough and I would probably be late! lol Even when my water broke I didn't believe it was really happening!

I lost my mucus plug the afternoon before. And my water broke in the middle of the night. Contractions started right after...

With my daughter I lost my mucus plug the day before she was due I was very tired and took a nice nap then when I woke up I cleaned my apartment from top to bottom I mean I did like a major spring cleaning I started at 1:30pm and didn't finish cleaning till 9:30pm and once that was done I took a shaower as soon as I sat down to relax I started having contraction which at frist they felt like mentral cramps then got stronger as the nite went on and I had her exactly on her due date
