How did you know you were ready?
I thought I was preggo last week and so relieved when I got my period. I guess I know I'm not ready yet!

I waffle between thinking Im ready - to thinking about my independence and how I'll have to give that up to some degree...and realize Im not quite ready!

Re: How did you know you were ready?
We originally wanted to wait a bit after we got married, then a good friend of mine, a healthy friend was diagnosed with Leukemia and died 7 months later, celebrated his 30th birthday in the hospital. That is when we said what are we waiting for? Life is so uncertain and you will never have enough money, etc. Good luck!

Re: How did you know you were ready?
I still go back and forth - but being at the hospital a few days ago to see my cousin's new baby reinforced to me that I am ready.

Re: How did you know you were ready?
I think I was ready a long time ago but my lack of marital status and the need for child-rearing support from a significant other prevented me from having children any sooner. Ideally, it would be great if we were both 5-10 years younger before we decided to have children. But time does not permit and even though many women have healthy babies in their 40's, I would prefer not to wait until then to try to TTC. We still don't know how long it will take. Hopefully, I can have two children before then.

That really puts things in perspective and makes you think - what ARE we waiting for?
