believe me - I'm with ya!!! Buuuut Talia has other ideas - she has napped in my bed (without me) for the past 3 days and had a FIT tonight when I put her in the crib....maybe she is trying to tell me something?? (although I am totally not ready!)

sounds like she might be ready...unless it's your smell that she likes in your bed. Maybe try putting something in her crib that smells like you.Chat Icon

What about putting her crib mattress on the floor to see if she'll even go to sleep without being in the crib or does that give too much freedom since it's not high up like a bed?

I believe it is easiest to leave them in the crib as long as it is safe. My friends who have moved their toddlers under the age of 2 are dealing with lots of night wakings as the baby is too excited by the freedom to actually sleep!

Easy. His sister was born. (Sorry it doesn't help you but we could always use a Talia duplicate)

Yeah I was thinking that. I know Miranda would be in her closet pulling all the cothes she could reach off the hanger, opening the drawers and doing the same and then probably closing her fingers in the drawer because this is what she does if I turn my back for a second while we're in her room. Sammy was in a crib until he was almost 3 and he was able to climb in and outby himself. I knew then it was time.

That is how we knew Dd was ready for a bed.. she was sleepng netterin my bed and on the floor.. she wouls only last about 4 hours in her criba night...

Did she sleep on a pillow on your bed.. you can try to put one in her crib.. maybe that would work..

Good luck it is not easy....

he was climbing out of his crib and sleeping on the floor with his "friends" at 20 months, by 22 months we gave up the fight and he was in his own twin bed and has slept safely and soundly ever since Chat Icon

Re: how did you know your little one was ready...

My DD is still too young to move up, but my niece moved up when she was almost 3. She never climbed out of her crib. She just refused to sleep in it anymore. My sister thinks she is afraid of something because she will only sleep in the bed with her older brother. She will not sleep in her room at all anymore.

Jared fell out of his crib and we brought the big boy bed home that night.
