How did you make a decision about a multiple stroller?

I have been given a double stroller (but they have to be 6 months before I can use it). And everyone keeps telling me that it is enough. I can take all 3 out with one baby n the baby bjorn and the other 2 in the stroller.
My babies will most likely be born in sept/oct so I probably won't be going out too much in the winter (maybe Halloween?). But, what about when they are older?
Anyway, just wondering what your opinions were.

Re: How did you make a decision about a multiple stroller?

My son had just turned 2 when the twins were born. I got a triple stroller. I love it! It doesn't fit through doorways, but it is great for long walks outside. My ds is almost 3 now so can walk, but not walk fast for 3 miles.

My friend has an older ds and then triplets. They got 2 of the double jeep umbrella strollers and attched them with the stroller connectors. That is a great cheap option to get a double umbrella and attach o a single umbrella. And then if you have someone with you, you can each push one.

I asked many people with twins who advised me NOT to get side by side or I would regret it. I am going with the City Select. It has stadium seating also which is great & seats can change to any direction you want.
It is very pricey but think it will be worth it.

I totally agree with this...I have furiously been researching what stroller to get also (I am due with twins in early Dec but will most likely deliver in November). I think I have decided to go with the City Select because it is the best of both a double snap and go and a regular tandem stroller. I think it will be well worth the investment.

i am getting the valco tir mode double - it allows for babies from 0 months up plus it has an add on joey seat for my almost 2 year old on the front to sit - it is one of the most narrow side by side

I love my side by side, the combi twin sport. I never had a problem with it fitting anywhere.
I also have a tandem stroller and it is sometimes worse in stores...very hard to make narrow turns.

Re: How did you make a decision about a multiple stroller?

First off I dont think that you will want to push 2 in a stroller and carry one in a bejorn..... I always had another person with me when I went out with all 3 of them. I have a double and a single and had the kids in the infant carseat in the stroller for the first 6 months then they went directly into the stroller.

I do have the Combi Twin Sport and LOVE it.... I never had any issues with not being able to fit thru any doors.

I also have a triple jogger that I use for walks around the neighborhood and it does fit in the back of my Suburban if I want to take them to the boardwalk or someplace else outside for a walk.

The front to back double stoller I felt was to dam heavy and bulky to keep putting in and out of the car. The Combi is very light and folds up pretty compact.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Thanks, I have heard I will rarely if ever set out on my own!

For all the moms and moms to be of Twins, my sister has the City Select Mini and LOVES it! We did a TON of research and even though it was expensive, it was well worth the investment.

I'm due in the beginning of December too with Twins. My doctor mentioned I will probably go too in November. Maybe around 36 weeks. I'm so looking forward to what genders I'm carrying. I also think I'm going with the city select stroller. I was also looking at the Kolcraft Tandem, but is a little longer then the city select.Chat Icon

I have the Double Combi too and it's great -- it is a tight squeeze sometimes but it gets through doors and it's so light weight and easy to fold into the car. My other back to front double is like a mac truck. I like it for walks because it's always ready to go in my garage, but it's just not practical for shopping and other outings.

We also got the scooter attachement for my older daughter to stand and ride on when she gets tired. Works great.

I have the Maclaren Twin Techno, which I have been very happy with. I have never had a problem fitting it anywhere. I personally hate tandem strollers, I feel like I am pushing a train, and was never able to maneuver in any stores.
The issue I see with a stroller like the city select is the kid in back kicking/pulling the hair of the kid in front. Also them fighting about who gets to sit where.

Re: How did you make a decision about a multiple stroller?

I did not get the side to side because I was also told it wouldn't fit through doors in some places. Now when I go out I can totally see this happening. Not only that but when I go shoppign with the girls. The aisles are so narrow that I would be hitting the clothes or shoes as I go by if I had a side by side, because I am barely missing them with the stroller I have now.
