Re: How dio you stay calm during the early weeks???

I was very nervous in the first tri - and every week that passed I felt such a huge relief. My only thought would be to stay positive. I've sort of come to the realization of whatever is meant to be will be and the only thing you can do is take good care of yourself so that you are taking good care of your baby! Chat Icon

Re: How dio you stay calm during the early weeks???

I can't lie...I was a nervous wreck right after I found out I was pregnant, and for several weeks after. I mean, I was getting knots in my stomach, which I then stressed about because I know stress isn't good for the baby. But, honestly, it's like it became 'normal' to me that I was pregnant, and I wasn't consumed by the worry (of course I was still nervous, and I still am!)

It's natural, just try to remember to relax, what will happen will happen, and think positively!!

I am 6 weeks 1 day and I have been having mild cramps similar to when AF is coming. I am so worried but my mom and doctor keep teeling me it is normal for some women to crampy during the early stages. I am just trying to stay calm which is hard to do. I try to read alot and try to alot of stuff to occupy myself.

I stopped reading internet especially the forums on babycenter.com, cause they were making me paranoid... then I picked up "belly laughs" by Jenny McCarthy and the book put me at ease, I thought hey I am not the only crazy out there lol

As freaked out as I was -- I just kinda took it easy and let nature take its course... I know that sounds so easy-- but I made sure I scaled back on most activities I did prior to getting pregnant- within reason.

I think too b/c I was so sick in the beginning-- the only time I felt good was when i was sleeping... so I made sure i did that as much as possible!!!!

I was a wreck. And I was bleeding, so that didn't help. I think almost everyone panicks in the beginning b/c it is all so new & huge to deal with.

I am pretty calm.
The doctor told me what to do and reading up on the do's and dont's and I feel that helps. I am being as healthy as I can and thats all I can do.

Re: How did you stay calm during the early weeks???

Honestly- I was soo nervous and still am. I am 8 weeks- and had a m/c at 6 weeks in October. Its really tough. Everytime I went to the bathroom, I was always inspecting everything (tmi, I know)- but it was a constant reminder of what had happened last time- and it was and still is really nerve wracking. Eventually, I had to let go a little because there is nothing I did to cause my m/c last time- and if I were to m/c this time, it is nothing that I did, and there is nothing that I could do- so that is kind of how I calmed down a bit.

Plus, every week that has passed has been a milestone- so I get excited when another week has passed!!

I am 6wks 5days today & I think I have been pretty calm. I had a mc at 5 & 1/2 wks last time & I was going crazy. This time I am just focusing on being as healthy as possible. Also, I haven't gotten any blood tests so I can't obsess over the hcg levels or anything like that. I will go for my first u/s at 8wks & take it from there.

Try to think positive & relax

I was also a nervous wreck for the first 12 weeks. I think I did *too* much reading. Looking back, I wish I had just enjoyed the "moment" and understood what was meant to be, would be.

Exactly my thoughts, and I am a firm believer of what's meant to be will be, so I tried not to think about it too much
