HOW did you tell your job?
I'm finally approaching the 2nd Trimester and will have to let me job know soon that I am expecting.
I work for a small company - 6 ladies and our 2 male bosses. Even though we are small, I've been told they offer FMLA but no maternity pay.
As far as I know, the last person to be pregnant now has 13 year old twins. I was told she knew she wasn't coming back. Before that, the last baby is now 24. The woman still works here. I can't say anything to her yet because she will let me bosses know before I do and I don't feel that is right.
I am due the end of September, the other girl in my department just put in for 8 vacation days the week I am due. This is making me more nervous to let them know.
I ultimately would like to speak to them both at the same time. I'm thinking of asking to see them both at the same time in the conference room (we are in a small office that has ears everywhere), I'm have a feeling they will think I'm quitting so hopefully they will be relieved when I let them know I don't plan quitting and would like to come back after the baby.

HOW did you tell your job?
i waited till i was 16w with Hailey, my direct boss knew i was going thru IVF, but i never told him at the time that it worked... i think at some point he probably suspected it... in that small of an office where you need to make sure someone is covering you it may be beneficial to tell them now. But as long as youre comfortable with it

HOW did you tell your job?
I told the doctor I work for when I was 16 weeks. I was at the time the only full-timer (manager), I told him I was going to work until I was due... ended up being admitted to the hospital 4+ weeks early and delivering exactly 4 weeks early due to sudden onset hypertension. I've been back at work since DS was 9 weeks old.

Re: HOW did you tell your job?
I told my immediate co-workers very early (I needed to let them know I was going to need some Dr visit coverage & switch some hours with them).
I inadvertently had to tell everyone when I went out on emergency bedrest.
Everyone was very supportive & I was back form bedrest in a week.

Re: HOW did you tell your job?
I told my boss when I was almost 10 weeks this time around because I felt like I was starting to get a bump already! My boss and I both had our first babies the same day by chance and after I revealed being pg with #2 she admitted she was too... we're due days apart again!

Re: HOW did you tell your job?
I work in a small department, I have 2 bosses and 2 coworkers. With DS I had to tell them at 10 weeks because I tried to schedule my OB appointments during my lunch hour and kept coming back late, I just told them when I came back late one day...this time around I knew to schedule my OB appts after work. I was planning to tell them at our office meeting but ended up telling them a few days early when one of my bosses mentioned her daughter was pregnant and due 3 days before me, so I just figured I'd let them know about me too (I was 14 weeks).

HOW did you tell your job?
I told them at the very beginning. I also work for my dad lol. I also wanted to make sure they wouldn't give me a problem if I needed to come in late or leave early for a dr appt.

Re: HOW did you tell your job?
I just asked to talk to my boss. I had been going to the dr often, so I said...I just wanted to let you know that the dr's appts I've been having are b/c I'm pg! She was thrilled. I let her know I am definitely coming back after my maternity leave. And that's all.
Don't stress about it. It's exciting news and it's not like you're going out on leave next week. There's plenty of time for the office to prepare.

HOW did you tell your job?
I told King Kullen at 8 weeks because I do a lot of lifting however, I have not told my school yet. I am going to wait til June to see if they want me back or not. If they do then I will sign the contract and go in for the first two weeks of school. Then have the baby and then be back after six weeks. With KK I can tack on my vacation time so even though I will get disablity for six weeks I will be out later because of my vacation time.

Re: HOW did you tell your job?
Just request a meeting with both of them. Do this before you tell anyone else as a professional courtesy and then you can share the news as you'd like. Also, you should have a rough idea of the amount of time you'd like to take and your plans for maternity leave before you do the appointment. GL!
