How do I care for Granite countertop?
We just had our new granite countertop installed in our kitchen! So exciting! Anyway, how do I clean the countertop? Can I use those kitchen sprays with the antibacterial stuff? I like to feel as if I am disenfecting rather than just using soapy water.

The guy who installed ours says on a daily basis you can use Glass Plus (no ammonia). He also gave us a treatment to use on the stone monthly.

Re: How do I care for Granite countertop?
You can't use Windex and I don't think Fantastic either. Glass Plus because it doesn't have ammonia.

Glass Plus does not contain ammonia. Another good alternative like others mentioned is vingear and water mixed in a spray bottle. Expensive granite cleansers aren't necessary. My granite distributor used Glass Plus in the showroom.
Any ammonia based product will break down the seal on your granite and it will become porous to stains.
