how do i politely turn down a student teacher?

I have been teaching 9 years here and everyone else has accepted one at least once. To be honest, not only do I not want to give up control of my classroom, but I'm team teaching with someone who is a traveler so I'm doing 95% of the lessons, my schedule this year is all over the place, I'm personally getting separated and moving! Its just too much. How can I politely and professionally say no to my. Boss?? Do you think it would be a help or make things more difficult? I believe its a January placement.

Never mind. I agreed to it. I think I am just a little nervous bc I've never done it before :)

I have one right now and it's not horrible. If they're good, it can be a great experience.

I'm "hosting" my 2nd one now.... this one is way better than the first one and I feel more prepared to help her become better and help me.

ST can be a great help to you as much as you will be to them!

I think it can actually be a great help!! Just be prepared that it is a 'student' teacher who is learning how to do the job... When I was a student teacher at one of my placements, my cooperating teacher (or my 'incooperating' teacher Chat Icon ) didn't show me any support at all!! She expected me to just come in and do my thing but she had no problem criticizing every mess up.

I had my first a few years ago and it was a really positive experience.
