How do people not realize they are rude?
last week at work this couple comes in and they start asking me question after question. its my job to talk to people, i understand that and i do....
and i know i have 'crazy' hair and tattoos, but that doesnt mean i necassarily want to tell you every reason for getting them. some are personal.
of course, the most personal ones are the quotes.... i dont like to talk about them. but im not oposed depending on the person.
well.... they start asking me about my hair. he wanted to know in what ways do people treat me differently. i was like  . He asked me how long I intended on keeping it a crazy color.
Then they started asking me about my tattoos... of course just the word ones. They wanted to know why I got it. Who is it quoted from and what does it mean. People ask me this all the time and i dont mind... but these people were totally being judgemental and not very nice.
He flat out told me I am going to regret the "Completely Dismantled". I was like "its actually not what you think"
(the whole thing is "everytime i look at you i feel so completely dismantled". its romantic and i love it) so i explained what it meant and he was like "well, no one would know that, they would think that YOU are compeltely dismantled"
i was very nice i said "well, it doesnt really matter to me what people think. if they ask me i will tell them"
which leads to my tnought of the day:
Do people really not know when they are being rude?!?!?!?

These people are completely rude. What put me over the edge in that story wa shim TELLING you what you're going to regret.
On the other hand, having "crazY  hair and a lot of visible tattoos invites attention and questions, and people are just not going to get it. It doens't give them the right to act rude or judgemental though

i think rude people REALIZE they are being rude and just want to bring you down. misery loves company. dont let them make you feel bad because you're original and one of a kind!

No, but seriously, there's actually an artice in Real Simple.
Here's an excerpt:

I had realized that other people often say cruel things for similar reasons.

Actually, it's that knowing attitude that often let's people believe they have the right to speak sharply to another person.

Basically, what the author was saying was that in order for someone to actually realize they are mean or rude, they have to experience it from the other end of the spectrum, AND realize that they were guilty of doing the exact same thing.
Some people are too thick-headed to realize anything!!!!!

This person or people who said this to you - about regretting completely dismantled, etc. - they were complete strangers??? THAT'S insane. I mean, if they knew you and said it they're still rude but to be complete strangers?
I would have had a very hard time not snapping back at them -- pointing out that they DON'T know you because if they did they'd know how you feel about rude strangers imposing their opinions on you. 
I don't know you either, but I wouldn't have voted for "completely dismantled" when you did your poll if I thought you'd regret it!

They just don't care...dealing with IF has totally taught me that. I can't tell you what kind of questions I've been asked regarding why we don't have children... how could anyone be married for three years w/out a baby .
