How do you bathe 1 year old when on vacation
When we are home we use the baby batht hat goes into the tub...but what about when we are away...I really dont feel like lugging the tub with us.
What does everyone else do

I stand him in the shower and soap and water him down - it worked fine in Cancun

She's 1 tho...I never did the shower thing with her...she can stand but not alone so I am worried how the shower will work out.

DH started showering w/ DS at 9 or 10 months when he tried to get out of the tub. DS was 11 months when we went away, and just turned 1 last week. He holds him in his arms and scrubs w/ one arm while holding him w/ the other. DS walks, but I wouldn't let him stand in the shower since it's so slippery.

DS has always taken baths in the regular tub, and we did the same while we were away.

We once gave him a bath in a hotel bath tub and he got a rash.
After that one incident, we started showering him when we go away. It's too much of a pain to lug his bath tub with us on a plane.

OK! SO shower it is....I guess I can hold her like you girls said. I am scared to have her sit in tub so Ill try the shower.

When DD was 1 we went on vacation for a week and just put her in the regular bath with a bathmat we brought from home.

DS has been taking a bath in the regular tub at home since 9 months. He loves having the bigger space to splash. We give him a bath in the regular tub when we are away. If you don't have a tub you can always get an inflatable tub to bring with you on vacation.

at that age DS was in the big tub alone, but in your case why don't one of you hold him and take a bath with him.
