How do you bathe your child?

Here is what I do and I am wondering what other people do.
He is still in his baby bathtub and I fill it half way with water and put it on the countertop in our bathroom room. I put some water on him then I wash his hair and take some water out of the tub with a cup and then I take water from the faucet and fill the cup and rinse his head. Then I wash his body and do the same. Do you use the water that is in the tub already that is soapy but or do you this also?

I use my tub on the kitchen counter and hose her off with the kitchen sprayer when she's done. I got this $40 clawfoot tub w/ shower hose attachment that isn't worth sh*t! Chat Icon

Re: How do you bathe your child?

I use the baby tub on the kitchen counter. I fill the tub half way and a large plastic mixing bowl with warm water. I rinse her with the bath water and then do a final rinse with the clean water. DH bathes her in the baby tub inside the regular tub and uses the hand held shower sprayer to rinse her. I would do it DH's way too but it hurts my back.

Re: How do you bathe your child?

Ive been going in the tub with Ryan since he was about 3 months old...

It was so much easier that having to sit on the floor or lean over the baby tub-
He always cried in there too- but as soon as we started going in the big tub, with him on my lap- it was a whole new world for him...

He is more than able to go in the tub by himself now- but sometimes for fun I go in to play boats or somethingChat Icon

Re: How do you bathe your child?

You should use the bath sling..it's great! it fits right in your kitchen sink and you use the sprayer to hose them down..it's like giving them a shower.

I am gonna look for that, hopefully it fits in my sink. We have a deeper sink than wider.

Marissa, when you go in the tub with him do you go in your bathing sute? Sorry if it is to personal you can FM me.

In the shower with us since she's been about 6 months old. Way easier IMO.

Re: How do you bathe your child?

I thought about this the other day because I put Roman in his bath ring and use the same water to soap him up and rinse him off, which technically is dirty water I guess. If he is really dirty, I'll hold him under the faucet first so i guess it's not that bad.

I use the infant to toddler tub which now I took out the infant part because he is way to big for it. I put it in the sink. We have a pretty big sink. I have a bad back so it is easier for me.

I put the washcloth in the tub water and use that to wash him. Then I rinse him down with the sprayer from the faucet. I drain the tub right after I am done with the soapChat Icon

Then she plays for awhile. I used the bath seat for all of a week. HATE the thing.

Re: How do you bathe your child?

When Christopher was about 6 months old, we bought one of those tub seats and we'd bathe him in that in the bath tub. Now he just sits on his own in the bath tub. Kaylee's in the baby tub. We put it across the kitchen sink and fill the bottom. She's in the infant sling though so her body's not submerged at all.

We use an infant to toddler tub on the kitchen sink and I use a plastic watering can to rinse her hair, etc. So far so good other than the fact that we get soaked Chat Icon from all her kicking

Andrew is afraid of the regular tub, so he's still in his inflatable tub inside the regular one. I hope he gets over his fears before he outgrows it, b/c it is SNUG. I rinse him off with the bath water in the tub.

Re: How do you bathe your child?

Jordana outgrew her newborn/infant tub and since she can sit up on her own, she is in a bigger Primo Eurobath tub. I put her tub inside our bathtub. I lean over the tub, wet her face with the washcloth. I wash her face with soap and then I rinse of her face. I wash her body and every other day I wash her hair. She loves the tub so she usually plays for about 5-10 minutes after I am done washing her.

Re: How do you bathe your child?

Abby is in the infant-toddler tub in the big bathtub. DH & I bathe her together at night. First we fill up the tub with clean water, get her nice & wet, he holds her while I wash her with the washcloth, then we drain out all the soapy water and hold the sprayer (on a very low setting) over her to keep her warm & rinse her off. It works great! He sits on the side of the tub & I knee. I'm going to the garden store to get one of those padded knee mats that you use to pull weeds. The towel just isn't cutting it!

When DD was really little - 2 or 3 months, we would bathe together in the bathtub.
At about 4 or 5 months she went into the regular big bathtub.

Re: How do you bathe your child?

Jake is still in the infant-toddler tub inside the big tub.

I fill it halfway with water, lather him up and then I use the shower hose on the most gentle setting to hose him off and wash his hair while the tub is draining.

I wash his hair last so he doesn't get cold.
