Quickly .. I got her a cute toothbrush and ask her to open wide .. and i quickly brush as best I can. Then I give her the brush and she does on her own. Shes getting pretty good at it. She always ask for it now.."teeth teeth" pointing at toothbrush and her teeth.

Plus I made it a habit for dh and I to brush our teeth infront of her.. this way she didnt get scared when I went to her with a brush.

My dentist gave me instructions on how to brush his teeth. He told me to start early so that he would get used to it.

Sit on the toilet (close the seat first, LOL). Lay him across your lap and brush his teeth with the brush & water. It's the most effective way to see what you are doing and get everything.
I didn't believe it at first but it actually does work the best and DS allows me to brush his teeth. When I tried to do it standing or sitting he would never allow me in.
I also let him 'play' with his brush whenever I brush my own teeth so he can practice. He likes to try to mimick me.

At a year, he let me brush his teeth pretty easily. Sometimes I couldn't get the fronts of the front teeth, so I would use a washcloth for those. But, I can't get in there for long at all now. I let him "brush" his teeth and I usually brush mine with him so he can see how you do it. He copies me, and when that's done, I "inspect" his teeth and give them a quick brush.
