How do you clean the bath toys?

Apparently one of the rubber duckies had water left in it, and it was gross when DS squeezed it. It got me thinking that how do the insides of the ducks and balls in thier tub actually get clean. I pretty much only wash the outside and now I am grossed out.

The ducks I toss often and just buy new.

The balls, I switched to wiffle balls, that was no water stays in.

Never even thought of the dishwasher. The insides get clean from that?

How often do you wash them in the dishwasher?

I usually wash them every other wk in the dish washer. They seem to come out clean and when you squeeze the toys clean water comes out instead of the yucky stuff.

those sqeeky toys I don't think can ever get really cleaned, esp on the inside where water gets trapped. We keep them for a few mths and then toss and replace with new ones. Otherwise they are bound to get moldy on the inside bc you can never fully get the water out.

Every other week I soak the kids bath toys in the sink with some bleach.. if the duckies or squirt toys get moldy or gross inside.. I throw them out because Addy likes to chew on themChat Icon

If the insides get moldy i chuck em out.

Otherwise i just throw them into the dishwasher too.

I use a rubber ducky from munchkin that tell you if the water is hot or not, they don't allow water to go in and DD's love their rubber ducksChat Icon

I also dont' have anything anymore water can get trapped in. I have stacking cups for the bath, they float and have holes in the bottoms.

I think I will start fresh with new ones and then wash them in the dishwasher.

I feel like an idiot that I never even thought about this.

Thanks for the info though.
