How do you clean the toilet tank?
I need to clean my toilet tank and have no clue how. The water is all murky and brown....EWWWWW! Any tips? (not the toilet bowl, the tank)

I use the toilet cleaners that lay in the back of the tank, and it keep the water clean, along with the toilet.

I buy those drop in bleach hockey puck looking things, they clean the tank & help keep the inside of the bowl a little cleaner

There is a sticker on the inside of my toilet lid that says NOT to use those. My FIL said it is because the bleach can corrode the parts.
I don't know how else to clean it either. I've always lived in apartmetns with those industrial style toilets, where the pipe goes into the wall, no tank.

How about visiting your local Lowes or Home Depot and asking them for advice on what to do? I go to Lowes, walk to the department I need and find someone and ask them what I need and what works and they can always answer my questions.

I am going to try those bleach hockey pucs. I know that it may not be good for the tank ALL the time but using it once I think will be ok. When this one runs out I wont buy another one.
