If they are washable I put them in a gentle cycle but it they aren't then I have the carpet cleaning company do them when they do my other rugs.

How large? If 5x7 and not too thick, washer. Anything thicker or bigger you can either vacuum or bring out and put over the side of a fence or clothesline or over the side of a railing and beat it.
Vacuuming probably best.

i guess god is punishing me for bring rude/sarcastic w/ my reply becasue i woke up this morning to crap all over the aarea rug in the den. yes, the dog. going to the pet store to ask how to clean it.
