How do you deal with fatigue?

It is scary how tired I am. I spend almost the entire weekend on the couch resting or napping. I don't know how I even go to work during the week. It is getting so hard to function. Plus the oh so sore breasts and waves of naseau make me more exhausted. Will I really feel better in the second trimester? I can't seem to function like a normal person. I also wonder how people feel like this when they already have a child at home to care for.

I'm worried about this too. I was fine all week at work but all weekend, I have been SO exhausted. I'm wondering how work is going to go this week...

I am very good about taking my vitamins. However, I am not eating the best food, I usually don't feel like eating, or I eat something not too healthy because it doesn't make me sick.

I have been napping on and off the whole weekend. You just have to rest when your body says rest and HOPE that you're not at work! Good luck!

Re: How do you deal with fatigue?

First trimester I was lucky to make it until 730...I was exhausted by the time I came home from work & then if I didn't do what I had to do immediately I'd just crash. It's rough. But your body needs the rest.

I'm at 20 weeks now & only recently have felt better, although I still find myself crashing around 10pm (I used to be a midnight girl)...

Hang in there, it'll get better.

Re: How do you deal with fatigue?

I was in the same boat as you - which was difficult for me because I always have been super hyper, and its like someone let the air out of my tires!!!

I'll tell you - I'm not sure how I dealt. I work a lot, so its not like I was able to take naps. I hate to say this - but mostly, at least once a day, I cried my eyes out from exhaustion. Not the best coping strategy - sorry, but its all I could do.

It took until late in my 2nd trimester to feel like I can be functional. I feel at 33 wks I have more energy than I did at 23 - but everyone is different....

I keep telling myself that this is the easiest part - I can't imagine how exhausted I'll be once the baby actually comes!!!

Good luck!!!

I am still waiting for the exhaustion to lift, I am out cold by 10pm, it is better than it was during 1st trimester though.

How i make it through, i have to have my cup of caffeinated tea in the am or I am screwed the whole day.

It's hard being pg, chasing after a 9 month old who wants to walk everywhere but can't do it herself yet! My back is killing me!
She yells at me when i can't get off the floor fast enough to walk her somewhere!Chat Icon

With my 1st pg, I used to sleep whenver my body wanted too, I would come home from work, eat dinner and pass out on the couch by 7pm.

Re: How do you deal with fatigue?

I am in week 15 and a little less tired. As long as i keep moving and dont sit down when i come home from work, im good. Once my butt hits the couch, im down for the count. I still get tired, but try to work through it. If its a weekend, i just take a nap when im tired.
