How do you do your wash when DC is eating solids?
When he was just on formula, I could let the laundry pile up for a few days and put baby oxyclean in the prewash and it would get all the formula stains out. I figured this would work with everything. But I let his bib with sweet potatoes on it sit for a day before I did the wash, with the oxyclean pretreat, and it still stained. How do I avoid stains on everything now? How do you do your wash?

I use target baby detergent (their version of dreft). I leave stuff in her hamper for 3 days, wash it on warm and all the stains have come out so far

I do laundry once a week so I usually spray things that are stained from food with Shout and then wash it in warm water.

we spray the minor stains with spray and wash or the dreft version, but anything orange (especially carrots ) gets pretreated immediately with Clorox II (Free and Clear)....usually do the wash every 2-3 days since we puts bibs and washcloths in the laundry too.

I do a quick wash in the sink just with dish soap of things I think would stain. Then I let them air dry and put them in her hamper for a real wash in the future.

I double bib DD. One cloth bib and then the plastic bib on top. That way she won't get food down the neck onto her shirt. Seems to work for us.

Honestly? I don't care about bibs. I could careless if they have stains on them

Neither did I. For really messy stuff sometimes I strip her down to her diaper and then she goes in the bath.

LOL! I'm not so concerned about the bib...it's everything else. He seems to get the rest of his clothes, the surrounding furniture, me....once I noticed the stains weren't coming out anymore, I got worried I was gonna need throwaway clothes to feed him!

Dreft makes a pre-treat stain spray I would always use. I never like cloth bibs anyway, I always used a vinyl or washable one.

Re: How do you do your wash when DC is eating solids?
I would love to say I soak them...but mostly, if its stuff from daycare - they sit in the plastic bag until I do wash on the weekend! Then, I fill up the washing machine, add oxy clean (I found the baby version to be ineffective, so use just the "adult" one now....) and let it soak for a half hour (or longer if I forget...) - then I put the lid down and run the cycle.....sometimes on white bibs, if they don't look good enough, I will use a clorox pen to get the bad stains...a and then wash them again....
