How do you explain to kids that doctors aren't evil & how do you explain their boo boos from their shots?
I thought it was sad when newborns got shots, but this is worse. As they get older, they start to understand and question things...............which makes things even more challenging, huh?
How do YOU explain this stuff? I feel so stupid saying, "Yes, you have a boo boo from a shot, but the shot is good. It makes you healthy" and "The doctor gives you shots because he cares about you." ????
He's not buying this stuff, and I don't blame him.
Totally failing here. I must have skipped this chapter in the parenting handbook.
Insight needed.

Shots are important medicine that make you not get sick. Even mommies and daddies get shots to make sure we don't get sick. Doctors even get shots so that they don't get sick.
Idk, that's all I got.

Alright, I'll try some of that later.
......but after today, MOMMY needs a shot, and I'm not talking a vaccination..

haha Im not there yet but I'm seeing myself say
Yes doctors ARE evil when you aren't hurt they make you hurt.
But they help when you are hurt to make you better so we keep them around.
Those shots hurt. Mommy hates them too. We do them because we have to. Its like we have to go to school, momma has to go to work. We do it because it makes us better in the long run. But we can always go get a sundae after a shot
ETA: Oh and yes darling those shots that make you stronger will make you feel sicker. Its nature's way of making sure we're strong enough to make it. Oh and yeah, doctors won't believe momma and stop the pain so I don't think they'll believe you. Just suck it up, take and lets get out of here, huh?
Oh same goes for dentist. And lets not start on the OBGYN since I do have a girl! LOL

It makes it easier if you're diabetic, and DC see you put a needle in your arm a few times a day every day....
Actually, last week, DD was asking me about the needles when she was watching me before dinner. DD- Does that hurt? Me- Not really DD- When I get a shot it hurts Me- Yeah, but only a little, and it goes away, right? DD- yeah
That was pretty much it. I think she understands that they are a necessary evil, and she's OK with it.
