How do you feel about the 9-10- 11 month old ages?
I think this is such a hard age. Actually its been a little rough since 9 months in my opinion.
But right now, is very trying. All she wants to do is be free to crawl, pull herself up and try to walk. And while I LOVE IT..sometimes I cant have her out and about. She SCREAMS when I put her in anything now (playpen, exersaucer, etc) and I know she just wants to experience all the new things she can do but all day alone with her is kind of rough.
She screams a lot, I think has her way of communicating. She flails her arms when frustrated, again, her way of communicating..and mommy has gotten smacked a couple of times in the process. She plays with NOTHING! We have tons of toys but she likes the seltzer bottles and remote control better.
Does anyone else feel that this stage (9, 10, 11 months) is a hard age? Please tell me I am not alone!

Well right now I am at the top end of that..11 mths and I am loving the age.
She is so independent and we have a routine down.
I am enjoying this time. I love playing with her and making her laugh.

I enjoyed that age... I loved that she was so happy that she could crawl around and explore... I babyproofed pretty well and didn't really need to restrain her very often...

The same with us. DS is becoming such a little man. He has his own personality and I love seeing him laugh and crawl around the explore the world on his level.

I have to say - I loved that age. I loved when he learned to situp, crawl pull up and start to step. He started to understand and want to do more and interact more. I guess I just marvelled in how much he learned so fast. It was one of my favorite ages so far - for me it was like 7-10 months where he started doing all that.

We are at just about 9mos and yes, I think it gets a little demanding! DD loves water bottles and our remote also :) We tried giving her a remote we don't use often, and took out the batteries, but she has no interest in it and only wants the Cablevision one lol!
We have to babyproof much better than we have so she has more freedom!

OMG that was the optimum fun age (although I am enjoying 18 months a heck of a lot) the movement phase was the best. The best thing you can do is make some safe zones...that way you can let the baby roam and find her feet and you don't have to worry too much!

I loved that age- it may have something to do with the fact that she cried constantly until about 8 months or so.

We are just at 10 months and I think it's been a little easier than before. Mostly because he is almost sleeping through the night now and he's a little bit more independent. Not to mention it's been so much fun lately! The hard things are the screaming and the need to be with me constantly. But overall I love it!

Re: How do you feel about the 9-10- 11 month old ages?
DS is 9mths and I feel it is a hard age as well. He used to never cry, he used to sleep throughout the entire night in his own crib, eat so well. Now that he is teething / mobile all he wants to do is explore which is great but he sometimes get bored quickly, he gets mad if he cant EAT the phone or the remote. I have to wrestle him to change his pamper and drink his bottle sometimes He now will only sleep in my bed, and he tosses and turns before he finally falls asleep. He also will scream if you put him in his exersaucer/jumper/walker if he is not in the mood. All he wants to do is walk around and he cant do that unassisted.
I hope it gets better because I am about to pull my hair out.

Re: How do you feel about the 9-10- 11 month old ages?
Same here! DS is all over the place and he's a young wise-arse. He's that kid that will continually go where he's not supposed to (like climb on the tv) and turn and smile at me as he does it. It can be a lot to handle sometimes. He spends very little time actually playing with his toys. He more so passes them by as he goes for the phone or the remote- and buying him his own phone to play with was a complete waste of money. My baby who LOVED having his diaper changed (we called his changin table his happy place) now fights me and tries to wiggle away. And don't get me started on his sleeping habits. We went from going into his crib awake to going in there and sreaming until someone comes to rock him- something we haven't done since he wa 3-4 months old. And he's been getting up anywhere from an hour to two hours earlier than normal.

Re: How do you feel about the 9-10- 11 month old ages?
I remember really enjoying that age for the most part, but it was very trying at times. I was off last summer just when Kate was that age and she was in severe separation anxiety stage--I couldn't even go to the bathroom without her crawling in! Well, truthfully, that hasn't changed except now she's walking in She was also a very picky eater then and that was frustrating too...needless to say I was running back to work in September!
ETA...Kate always hated the exersaucer and the playpen too!

I feel like I could quote a snippet from so many of these posts. But ITA that the separation anxiety in enough to make me run for the hills. She won't allow me to put her in her walker or any other contraption for that matter. But with the sleeping I can't complain ....knock on wood...so far I have a great sleeper. Two naps...morning and afternoon ...an hour and a half each, goes to bed at 6:30PM and gets up at 6:00AM.
The thing I am enjoying most about her age is that she is becoming a little person. When she laughs, it's so genuine.
