How do you feel about the regents exams?

It's just a NY exam, right?

Do you find they are beneficial in actually proving a student really retained info from their studies?

Do you find it to be political in any way?

I remember being so stressed out about them..to the point of tears.

What do you think?

I truthfully don't understand them. I went to private high school in MD and now teach at a private school in NY, so I have no exposure to them. Our school doesn't use them, and I have heard parents complain that they can't use them for NY state scholarships, but our SATs scores are usually wonderful and that should be more important I would think.
