How do you get rid of the ugly wall mirrors circa early 1970?

When DH and I were in Boca over the weekend, I tried taking a look at the hideous mirrored walls. I would like to try to get them down without hiring someone. I think they must be glued on, because I didn't see hooks? Does anyone know how to do this?

we removed them from 3 walls in the LR...v e r y c a r e f u l l y


gently prying them off with putty knives

My friend tried to get his down & was told they were put up with tar or soemthing, so they hung a curtain from the celing to cover it & put their bed in front of it.

I have also seen people tape the fronts & break it, so you don't get tiny shards.

we hired a professional. they are heavy as anything and need to be done very carefully. it wasn't expensive at all and was worth the money. if we had broken one, we would have been in big trouble or gotten hurt.

they also took the giant mirrors away so we didn't have to worry about disposal
