how do you get stains out of a white tub?

We are renting an apartment...I am sure this tub is pretty old....there are stains in and around the tub....I have used scouring powder left it on and scrubbed.....didn't do much....used Scrubbing Bubbles...that was a waste of time....

Any suggestions...its clean but looks so dirtyChat Icon

Mr Clean Magic Eraser - it seems to get most any stain out. Someone suggested using it with Scrubbing Bubbles - maybe that would help.

Try filling the tub with bleach and hot water and letting it sit for awhile.

Definitely bleach it up!

I never cared for Scrubbing Bubbles... then again I'm crazy... I practically need paint to peel on the walls for me to think and feel something is clean.Chat Icon

Several methods have worked for me:
1. Tilex. Try this first. Spray and let sit. Scrub w/cleanser after a rinse.

2. Zud cleanser (and elbow power). Has gotten many stains out for me and my laundry slop sink looks new (again...elbow power).

3. Wash with vinegar or a warm solution of water softener and water. Or, mix a paste of borax and lemon juice and scrub well. -via a book

Try "Easy Off Bam" Spray. I swear it works. I had a rust stain in my tub and it got it off in seconds!

Kaboom is incredible! I love Scrubbing Bubbles and swore by it until I tried Kaboom on a dorm room tub and it came up sparkling lol

I forgot...the old cast iron in our old apartment was a little stained so we filled the tub with warm water and dropped a dishwasher tab into it. Let it sit for a few hours and it came out sparkling clean!
