How do you handle this - re: eating
Loey's new thing is putting foods into his mouth and then spitting them into his hand and giving them back to me He does it whenever he doesn't want to eat what we're giving him.
For example, I made a "baby brunch" for him yesterday: scrambled eggs with sharp cheddar cheese, bacon, toast with butter and jelly, and a pancake.
He spit out the eggs and the toast... ate the bacon... ate the pancake.
How many times should I try giving him things before knowing that he really just doesn't like something?
How should I handle it when he spits things out?
I don't want to "force" him to eat things because he will then start to gag and we realize that now he will "pretend" to choke (although I know he doesn't understand what he's doing) and that often time leads to him actually starting to choke (needing back blows to dislodge food)....

It might be the texture of the eggs. DD used to spit them out too but now she loves them!

How do you prepare them? Scrambled??
Also, it's not just eggs... it's any food that he doesn't want to eat. It gets pretty messy!

Dr Oz says that you should give a food to a child 12 times before he can say that they do not like it. I was such a picky eater (still am) so this rule would have PO'd me.. lol

Re: How do you handle this - re: eating
Luce doesn't spit it out. he just moves it around with his mouth open and a look of "get this out of here" on his face.
and it's almost always with food he likes, he just doesn't feel like eating.
he gets into moods or gets bored of things. or he's just not that hungry.
the only time I don't give him stuff again is if he truly did not like it. (I tried broccoli rabe twice. I may try again in the near future)
so, maybe don't make scrambled eggs especially for him next time, but let him taste yours to see.
eggs is something we have zero trouble with. luce would eat them any which way at any meal.
but, maybe try eggs over or soft boiled. I don't really like scrambled eggs unless they are perfectly cooked...totally firm with not ONE HINT of brown on them. still to this day. I also hate eggs and cheese together with a passion so try them another way. don't give up. eggs are so good for them!

he's been eating table foods for a while now... we are just trying to stop purees altogether. he seems to love table foods now, depending on what they are!

Ophelia - I only tried the cheese because he LOVES cheese and hated plain scrambled eggs!
I will try to cook them other ways too... can babies have eggs over easy? Should I just make them not so easy with the yolks fully cooked?
