How do you have your household cleaning chores set up?
Do you have it by days? or do you do it all in one day?
I am preparing a list for my housekeeper and I want to split up all the chores so that it's broken up into 5 days (she is off on the weekends).
Can you all help me. I don't know why I'm having a hard time splitting it up.

I have a live-in housekeeper/nanny. She also watches my children. But one is 20 months old and the other is 3.5 and goes to school PT. I can FM you how much I pay, but we don't live in NY.

Re: How do you have your household cleaning chores set up?
wow, i am sooo jealous. with work and my commute, i am out of the house 11-12hours a day on a minimum, so i generally do all of my cleaning in one day. then once midweek, i usually windex glass tabletops, front door and front windows (we have 2 little dogs that like to lick and look out all day long), and vacuum. but i'm too tired after work to do real cleaning, so like i said - i spend one day off cleaning the house top to bottom, and doing most of the laundry.
eta- if it were me, i would have her do the kitchen and bathrooms 2x a week; vacuuming everyday; laundry 2x a week; dusting 2x a week; floors once a week; change bed sheets once a week... can't think what else right now

Re: How do you have your household cleaning chores set up?
Thanks guys. I am trying to be very specific in what gets done around the house. As for the baths and the kitchen (especially), I like it to be swept and mopped daily. (I have kids running around and things spill and food gets dropped). I just thought it'd be easier to do a chart with the days of the week and then list all the individual tasks per day. (Am I being nuts? lol)

Re: How do you have your household cleaning chores set up?
I would definatley establish a schedule so in the future there is no misunderstanding about what is expected from her.
Yes, I do do my housework by a schedule (Im more productive when I write lists and schedules!) and it is MUCH easier this way-
I do a Mon-fri for everyday stuff like vacuuming, laundry & dusting... then I have another for every other week, for heavier cleaning like kitchen cabinets, inside ovens & refridge etc.
I would kill for someone to clean my house every day!!!

Do you have one written out that you could share? I just feel bad because I feel like I'm always calling her to do something that I forgot about and she is excellent, so there aren't any problems, but there are certain unforseeable things that need to be done that I forget about.
