How do you know if you are dehydrated?
I know I am supposed to be drinking a ton of water, but I forget alot, and if I am going out somewhere I don't want to b/c then I am in the bathroom every 30 minutes.
So, what are signs that you are? Thanks!

Well, in general, if you are thirsty, you're already on your way to being dehydrated.

Thanks, I was nervous because when I took off my boots and socks yesterday, my ankles looked very swollen. I was wondering if this was a sign.
I know I have to start drinking more, I am drinking water as I type!

I can drink water till I float away and my feet are still swollen at the end of the day. I am pretty sure, from all I have read, that this is pools of blood, not extra water. So I put my feet straight up for about 10 minutes when I get home and it takes care of the swelling.

I'm not sure exactly how to tell... but when I was in the emergency room the nurse told me that we're supposed to drink 8oz of water for every hour that we are awake 
So let's see I got up at 7:30 I go to bed at 11...
Thats 16 glasses of water
128 ounces...
that's 1 gallon.
So I should be drinking a gallon a day.
Hmmm. Not close to that

I can't possibly drink any more water! And, I think I am retaining water because only 1 or 2 pairs of pants fit me.

Definitely when you are already thirsty is a big indication... Also a big factor is dark urine. Urine is supposed to be clear - very pale yellow...

you look pasty....your not keeping any food or liquid down..NOT EVEN an ice cube will stay down. Your weak..it is a horrible feeling

Also, pinch the skin on your hand, if it does not return to form (back on your hand) and stays pinched-looking, you are dehydrated, you can also start to contract, feel ligtheaded, and have a lack of saliva.

My Dr suggested 1 gallon of water a day. I try my very hardest to drink a lot throughout the day but its hard for me - never been a big water drinker, or drinker at all for that matter.
The dr said urine should be clear to very very pale yellow, otherwise you are not drinking enough water.

Your urine should be almost clear if you are drinking enough. Also if you get stomach cramping that is a big sign you are dehydrated.
