I know it says to 30 inches but his feet are to the end of the infant carrier.

Brendan's feet have been past the end for a while. My seat says 30 inches also, but it says that their head should not be past the top of the seat. I think the head is what matters. We just went to the ped yesterday and he's 27 1/2 inches so we can still use the infant seat! Chat Icon I'm not ready to give it up yet.

When their feet gets to the end, it's time to reevaluate. I asked the pediatrician.

I'm not ready to give it up either not that I take it out of the car anymore but I like that I have the option especially since I still sometimes snap it onto the stroller. I will have to rememeber to ask the ped. when I see her next month.

I just changed it last weekednnd and he's six months old 28 inches and only 17.4 lbs but I just knew that it was a good idea. Now he's so much happier in the "big boy" carseat. NOTE: Our seat can hold an infant from 5 lbs to 100lbs so make sure the seat that you are changing too is not too big either.

That's when I changed mine, his feet reached the end of it at 4 months Chat Icon
I hated giving up the infant carrier.

Instead of getting an car base we just put the big carset we registered for in DH's car and he seems to be more comfortable in it but we haven't decided if we want to get another Britax Boulevard or a less expensive one. It is so cute because DS puts his arm on the cushion that sits towards the bottom of the carseat and its like a little arm rest for him.

Yeah, my ped. said it's not safe to keep them in there after their feet reach the end. So that means, at 3 months old, Ava will be leaving her infant seat behind and moving to her big girl carseatChat Icon Makes me a little sadChat Icon

We already put the big carseat in dh's car, I want to change the one on in mine but she still falls asleep in it, so I am a little hesitant.

It is so heavy to carry now though!

I think it has to be rear facing until they are a year.

I just learned in our infant CPR class (they talked about car seats too) that when the baby's head is less than 1 inch from the top of the seat, it's time for a bigger one.

Bella probably could have stayed in it longer, but I couldn't lift her anymore and we switched...around 6-7 months...

I rarely take it out of the car anymore. Sometimes I still attach it to the stroller but thats rare. I use it more like just a regular car seat.
