How do you know what maternity size to buy?
Are you the same size in maternity clothes that you would be in regular clothes? How do you know what sizes to buy if you're buying online? I'm so confused!

They say buy your normal pre-pregnancy size, but that hasn't necessarily been the case for me, so buying online can be tricky.

I'm a 10 in "normal" sized clothes and a 12 in maternity.
Seems pretty uniform across the board for me - motherhood, gap, old navy, etc.

so far I have pretty much been the same size I was before I was pregnant--some of the tops I need to get a large instead of a medium b/c of my chest and one pair of dress pants i bought in my regular size are too big but in general I've been buying the same size.

Weird. I am a smaller size in maternity then I was before. Although I find my tops to be getting shorter and shorter, so I have been buying those bigger.
I bought a pair of Medium pants at Motherhood and they were HUGE!
Then I again, I am still down 8lbs from my prepreg weight and I think a lot of my belly is from my arms and legs redistributing.

It really depends on the store. Kohls runs huge for me I wasn't able to wear S maternity even at 9 months. I like Old Navy the best. I am usually a 4 or 6 in jeans, I just bought size 4 maternity jeans or size small.

i am a small in regular clothes but used to find the medium maternity clothes fit alot better.
