how do you know when you first feel kicks?

i know i am way too early now (13 weeks) but i don't want to miss my first flutters!

What does it feel like? I have been feeling these tingles around my belly button, but i have felt those since day one so i am assuming that's not it

i was just wondering what the first flutters felt like so i know what it is when it happens!

I have heard like little butterflies in your tummy...lol no experience here. lol just what i've heard!

I've also heard it described as the feeling of popcorn popping. I think I had this at one point and didn't think twice about it, but now I'm pretty sure it was the baby! I didn't feel actual kicks/punches until week 23, but that seems to be on the later side based on most of the threads I've seen here.

Looking back, my first little flutters felt like popcorn popping or bubbles popping in my stomach then around 20 weeks I would feel a definite kick or punch and it slowly become more and more consistent over time. Now at 32 weeks - even with anterior placenta - this kid is non stop especially at night!!!!!

My kicks feel more like little "thumps", nothing too sharp or sudden.. almost like baby is playing a little bass drum in my belly.

Mine have always felt like the lightest tapping you can think of-from the inside.

I felt my 1st DD at 15.5 wks. I remember exactly the feeling...like little twitches at first. I'd come home from work, go to my computer desk (log on to LIW (back then ) of course!), cross my legs and sit sort of hunched over...my chair was kind of high...and I guess the pressure or position or whatever helped me feel her.

Remember, if you feel anything around that time, it's going to be very low....like bikini area. Your uterus doesn't even reach your bellybutton until like 20 weeks, I think it is.

I think I feel her move...it does feel like popcorn popping lol. I am 21 weeks tom.

I made the mistake of thinking that it was gas at first

It felt like a flutter or roll. Hard to describe but you will know it when you feel it.

I have an anterior placenta...so was really feeling for anything. I had nothing, zippo, for the longest time.

Then at 22 weeks, the kid found a spot and it felt like kicking. There was no mistaking it. Kicking from the inside. Hard.

First flutters felt like butterflies to me as well.

First kick- felt like someone kicking me, lol. Feeling him is the best feeling in the world!

My first kicks felt like muscle twitches.
So much so that I had a twitch in my thigh one day and before I actually thought about where it came from I thought it was the baby!

It felt like gas bubbles...so I thought nothing of it, but it got more noticeable over time.

The first thing I felt was a bubbles popping sensation. I remember not being sure if it was the baby or actual gas.

I'm not sure 100% if its different with twins. From what i've seen/heard, most singletons don't feel anything until much later. I felt them around 13-14 weeks (and they are my 1st and 2nd). It's definitely possible!
