how do you ladies do it? (car help for a dummy)
i have a honda civic and finally put ds into the Britax Boulevard this week. well we have problems...
1. sun in his eyes (my car isn't tinted but i have 4 sun visor things on my windows that do Not help.) what do you do?
2. the car seat is rear facing and ds's feet already touch the back seat at 8 months. he seems smooshed.
3. ds doesn't fit comfortably into the carseat with his gap warmest jacket on. so i have the bundleme on the carseat and another one the stroller but i have to put his jacket on him before we get out of the car and then off again when we get back in the car. *picture it, a screaming baby and me smooshed in this tiny area between the carseat and the car door, struggling to get his jacket on and off, and not bumping ds head on anything. and what a nightmare this will be if he is sleeping!
it makes me not want to leave the house. what am i doing wrong? what can i do? what do you do?
help i'm a clutz at this!

Re: how do you ladies do it? (car help for a dummy)
I don't put a jacket on DD. I put her in the seat and cover her up with one of her warm blankets and put a hat on her. The jackets are way too bulky, interfere with the straps and can compress in an accident and eject the child. I think it's a PITA to put a coat on to take a child from the car and walk for 30 seconds into a store, etc. and vice versa. I would skip that part and save yourself the aggravation. Unless of course you are going to be outside for an extended period of time I do bring her coat with us though just in case.
Since you can't turn the seat around anytime soon, smooshed legs are unfortunate but there isn't much you can do. Maybe try to recline the seat back a little more? I don't have that problem since my child doesn't seem to be getting any taller than 26"
The sun..we reverted back to the infant seat because of this issue. I bought the stick on tint shade thingys which worked great on the side windows, but horrible on the back.
