I rinse with salt water and it helps to heal it quicker.

MY DH uses ABreva when he gets them. Its a little pricy for a small tube but he said its the best thing and works really fast.

my DH gets these too, besides meds, try to stay away from acidy foods like oj, coffee, tomato sauce for a little while.

I had a couple a few weeks ago and the only thing that helped was something I bought in cvs called CANKER-it doesn't smell that great but def. made them go away.

try rinsing with the juice from a can of saurkraut, i read it in " dear heloise" or somewhere, i hope it helps, and it's relatively a cheap remedy,

I would assume it was Kanka. That stuff does work pretty well.
