How do you make sure you don't ruin your nails?
I'm bad...I use acetone to take off polish. Since I am doing that once a week, I want to know how to balance out the effects.

Simple - I only get manicures for special occasions! ;) Every since I started doing than my nails have been looking amazing: pink, shiny and healthy.

I use Nailtiques. I have bad nails and it has helped SO much! I also use cuticle oil at least once a day, sometimes twice if I remember. I change my polish once a week but my nails are still healthy
ETA: I use acetone to remove polish as well, it works better and faster than the non-acetone.

Re: How do you make sure you don't ruin your nails?
I try to only use acetone if I am removing glitter polish because it's a pain in the A to remove, or of course gel or shellac manicures. After using it, I wash my hands immediately and rub coconut oil on my nails and cuticles. (I don't polish until the next day so I& let that soak in overnight)
I also use nailtiques or nailtek every manicure. I also just discovered Sally Hansen Hard as Nails. It's pretty good too. And cheap!

Nailtiques or Nail Tek
Formula 2 for both.

If its just regular polish (and not glitter) you can use non-acetone remover. When you're soaking off Shellac or another type of gel/acrylics you should put Vaseline around the tips of your fingers. Acetone is transdermal, which means gets absorbed thru the skin, the vaseline will help prevent that. I also try to use plastic backed pads when removing polish. CVS has them. I put cuticle oil on my nails daily.

Ok, I'll reserve the acetone for glitter. I do have to get into the cuticle oil habit. I start for a few days and then slack off.
Thanks ladies!
