How do you make time for yourself and not feel guilty???

How do you find the time for yourself, for your friends and for you & your DH, with out neglecting your DC???

I feel like I am neglecting everyone including myself because ALL my attention goes to my son. I love spending time with my son, playing with him, singing to him, feeding him, bathing him, It just makes me so happy, but I feel like maybe I have a one track mind and that its not healthy. I seem to be neglecting my friends (Most of my girlfriends are married but no kids, I am the first to have a baby). I want to go out with them but at the last minute I change my mind, DH always encourages me to get out and see my friends, but I feel such guilt.
DH and I spend alot of time togehter but its ways with the baby or doing chore after the baby down for the night. I feel like we need to find a way to do just "us " stuff like we use to. We rarely go out now, we use to have a very active social life, we don't even go out to dinner just the two of us anymore. I think that its important that DH & I stay connected not just as DS's parents but as a couple.

The problem I think is me, I just have such a hard time leaving my son. I thin the biggest reason is because of my guilt of being a working Mom. I just cannot justify it in my mind going out on the weekend or on a weeknight, working fullt ime means that I leave my house by 7:30am and I am not home till 6:30PM. Becasue of this I feel like anytime I have I should dedicate to him.

How do you guys do it? Any advice or suggestions??

I am right there with you Chat Icon and like you said...I think I do feel guilty for not being with him all week long that any time I do have free is usually spent with him.

Two weeks ago my ILs came over to watch DS while DH and I ran errands. We had so much fun together and managed to get lunch as well. It felt nice to be together but I was missing DS as well.

I don;t have any time for myself, I work full time have a private practice at night. So there is NO time for me, which I don't mind, my hubby and I make sure we have time for each other, that is why it is so important to get the kids in bed early. After they go to bed we maee time for eachother. If I go out with my girlfriends we do late dinners so we can all put our kids to bed and go out wih no guiltChat Icon
