How do you NOT lose it some days?
I KNEW Connor wasn't really napping, but he is usually good about playing quietly. He took EVERY toy out if his bin thing and every object out of the Step 2 kitchen and threw them all over his room.
I just wanted to cry when I saw all this. As it was I hated being home on this rainy day and let him watch far too much of his Little Bear DVDs. I wish he didn't have so many toys in his room, but I can't seem to light a fire under DH to fix up the basement to make a real play room.
This is my spring break and I was so excited for it and am just miserable!
I really had a hard time staying calm when I saw the mess.

Thank you
I am feeling so guilty that it felt so much harder to be home than to teach today The crummy weather really didn't help!

If you never clean his room, then he'll never be able to trash it!
Hang in there, I'm sure it's almost bedtime and then...

I like this in theory but no IRL!!! I actually take a deep breath got get myself a nice tall glass of iced water drink it and then go and clean up with DS!!! Sometimes there is nothing you can do but walk away get a drink (weather it be alcoholic or not) and then come back when your a little more calm.

Re: How do you NOT lose it some days?
DD does this in our playroom (she doesn't have toys in her room)- it drives me totally crazy - our basement in our new home is the play room but after 5 mins both girls have taken it apart (DD#2 takes more stuff out then her sister many days). I got over it real quick- but we have a rule. DD has to pick up most if not all of it at the end of the day. So she learns if she takes it all out she has to put it all away. We try to make a game out of putting things away. Even so the thought of putting it all away some days is enough of a deterrent. The rainy days are hard b/c they get cooped up so I try to cut a little slack those days but it isn't easy.
