How do you sterilize bottles?

When I first opened the box of bottles, I sterilized them in a pot with boiling water. Now I wash them with soap and water then I sterilize them in my Avent electric sterilizer everytime we use them.

During the first week or so, I used a pot of boiling water and DH even bought the microwave sterilzer (waste of $$ for us). But I learned quickly.

For the first two months, I used a microwave sterilizer daily. Now I just use hot soapy water to clean them and sterilize them maybe once a week.

The first time I use something I just boil it for 5 mintues. After the first use everything gets washed in the dishwasher.
