How do you stop breast feeding?
Please dont judge me, its just not working out for me or DD. She fights with me before latching on and my supply has really gone to nothing, and I had to switch her formula to isomil due to a milk protein allergy. I dont know how to wean off, will I get engorged? will I get mastitis? TIA.

You should be able to just stop especially if you don't have a full supply. When I stopped, I didn't have any discomfort or problems. You will want to avoid directing hot water on your breasts and wear fitted tops/bras.

no one will ever judge you for opting to stop breast feeding. when i stopped i was harder on myself than anyone else. I did get engorged but the discomfort didn't last long. wear fitted bras and when ever possible rotate your arms as if you were throwing a baseball, that work for me it might help you.

It didn't work out for me either.
i just stopped
i had 1 day of discomfort and used ice packs.

thank you so much! I do feel bad and horrible for stopping, as it has been pounded in my head how good it is and liquid gold so I feel guilty that Im not giving her the "best" but its just not a bonding time for us, and that too makes me feel horrible. Now she takes the bottle no problem and when she is done looks around and smiles. that is why I decided too no more fighting with this BF and pumping Im lucky if I get 2 ounces and she eats 4.5 ounces. she is just so much happier now. oh well I will try with the next one and see if its any better. thank you all for your advice, you made me feel so much better

the same exact thing happened to me.
i was SO DEPRESSED that I couldn't do it- i felt like a failure and a bad mother- but then I realized that I couldn't force the situation and she would be fine on formula and benefit MORE from having a mommy that wasn't depressed and could just sit back and enjoy the feedings- not having them be a source of major stress.
