How do you stop worrying
I am constantly worried that there is something wrong. I saw and heard the heartbeat last week and felt so relieved but now this week I am back to driving myself crazy. I suppose its because I have no M/S that I feel something is wrong. I just don't feel the way that everything says early pregnancy should be like. Any advice would be appreciated.
TIA

I think that everyone has and does go through this...time was the only thing to help. Each passign day got better and the sonograms are great too. They make you feel so much better to see your little one.
Hang in there!

Re: How do you stop worrying
I felt the same way...its only now that I am just about done with the 1st tri that I am worrying less. Some things that helped slightly were really trying to keep myself distracted from the pregnancy (I didn't even start reading any of my pregnancy books until about 1 week ago), and just trying to remember that, no matter what happens - it's out of your control.

Re: How do you stop worrying
When you figure it out let me know. I thought I would relax with the amnio results. HA!! I have now found a whole host of other things to worry about. Maybe after I get the Level II results I'll be ok.

Re: How do you stop worrying
I felt the same way at the beginning, and I still have moments now (at 21 wks.) when I hope the baby's health is fine, or I wonder if I should have done something. In the beginning, I kept running to the bathroom to check for bleeding anytime anything came out.
I think as the pregnancy progresses, and you have good tests, you will become more comfortable. Do your best not to worry too much, but I know it's hard.

Re: How do you stop worrying
Its perfectly normal to feel this way...I am 31 weeks and I still worry...even though my worries are proved wrong by the doctor, by the time my next visit comes I am worried again lol!
But you have to relax and take care yourself as best as you can.

Re: How do you stop worrying
I am not sure if the worrying ever stops. I analyze every little cramp or twinge - the only thing that comforts me is hearing the heartbeat. One thing I did do was stop reading so much - you can drive yourself nuts with all the potential ailments, etc.
I always have in my mind that there is a reason for this pregnancy, and if something were to happen, then there is a reason for that too. This has helped me a little.
Just try to relax, and as you get further along I think you will feel better. I know that I am dying to start feeling those little kicks, and to grow some more so I actually feel and look pregnant which I think will be comforting.

Re: How do you stop worrying
Yeah, you never stop worrying. But you have to enjoy it too because the time goes really fast!
I'm 32 wks & I never had any morning sickness so don't go by that. Talk to your dr if you need reassurance. If the blood tests came back good & you had a sono, trust that your baby will be healthy.
You're already ahead because you are making an effort to be healthy & getting as much info as you can.

You never do! I think its preparation for the rest of your life worrying about your children. But honestly, after the Level II, I calmed down alot.

Re: How do you stop worrying
I really didnt stop worrying till he was born. Its very hard. Just know that once you hear that heartbeat chances are the baby is 100% fine.,..I would have to remind myself constantly!
Your not alone.

Re: How do you stop worrying
You don't stop worrying I hate to tell you. Even after they're born, you're constantly worrying they stop breathing in the middle of the night, that they're hurt when they cry...
My mom warned me... as soon as you find out you're pregnant, til they're all grown up and married, you don't stop... and even THEN you don't really stop!!
Just trust that everything's all right. I think that you'd have a motherly instinctual feeling if something WAS REALLY wrong. Worrying is all part of the fun! Everything you are feeling is normal, so just do you best to not push yourself over the edge.
Relax and enjoy.

Re: How do you stop worrying
i worry every day. i also had no morning sickness or symptoms (only fatigue and bloat) so i would freak out. I rented a doppler from storkradio.com just so i could check/hear the baby's heartbeat in between doc visits and that helped a bit....

Re: How do you stop worrying
I think worrying is completely normal - at least I hope it is because at 20 weeks I am still relieved to see the baby on sonograms or to hear the heartbeat at the doctors office just to make sure it is still in there! Luckily I have started feeling little movements, so that has been making me feel better Everytime we leave the doctor, dh is relieved to see everything is okay.

Re: How do you stop worrying
if it would make you feel better, you can purchase the doplers from babies r us to hear the heartbeat.
Also.. from what I hear, with kids, the worrying is just getting started.

Re: How do you stop worrying
I know how you feel, the only time I'm not worrying is when I hear the heartbeat at the Dr. Them I'm good for about a week maybe 2 and the I worry like crazy until my next Dr. appt. I hope it will get better after my level 2 next week.

Re: How do you stop worrying
Well, the worry for me got less after I was out of the 1st tri...buy my DH put it this way:
"Your going to worry about this baby until the day you die"
He is so right
eta: I didnt have m/s either...that doesnt mean anything! Try not to worry, I know its hard but it does get better!

Re: How do you stop worrying
I feel the same way as you and I agree with everyone that the worrying has probably just begun. I think its hard in the beginning because we dont necessarily look or feel pregnant, but Im just trying to be positive and like someone else posted, its really out of our control.

I was the exact same way but gradually you will relax. After my 20 week sono, I relaxed a lot more.
