HOW do you tip your Garbage men???
I'd love to tip them but i NEVER see them. Im gone before they arrive? How do you give them a tip. Im def not leaving cash tapped to the can??
Any clue?? TIA

We are off in between Christmas and New Years, so that is when we give them something. But I would ask a neighbor to give it to them if you are close with one of them.

I'm actualy off this Friday (which is garbage day) so I'm assuming I'll just have to wait to hear the dog go insane and run outside to give them their envelope -

Last year I stalked them - of course it was the one day they didn't come early!!!
This year, since DH will be home to make sure they get it, I'm going to tape it to the garbage can lid like many of my neighbors do.

I hand it to them in an envelope with our name and address on it I want them to know we appreciate them so they continue to take excellent care of us. I take off during the holidays do I usually meet them down the driveway.
Here's an interesting take though. I'm sure a lot of people take off for the holidays. Do you think I'm tipping the fill-in guys or the temp guys?

DH is going to give it to them. I know, they sent us a letter saying NOT to tape the envelope on the trash can due to theft.

Our guys don't seem to take off around then - they probably want the tips.

In the past we gave them each a case of beer. This year I think we're giving them $20 each.

i've left notes the first few years for them to check the mailbox and left cash in an envelope in the mailbox for them. they never checked it, so i've never tipped them. i try every year, but i have the same problem as you :(
