How do you watch .avi files on a Mac?

I know you can get Windows Media Player for the MAC. That might do it. If not... not sure.
Make sure you get the latest version.

Rich is right -
your mac should've come with Windows media player. Mine did, and it's over 4 yrs old.
I want a new one.

You can download the latest version of Windows Media Player from Microsoft's web site.
That would be the best way... to get all the latest updates.

my mac didnt come with any windows stuff.. im not sure what avi's play in though, so i am not much help. i really only use the programs and dont have internet with that computer... but it should be equipped with something from the start. what operating system do you have?

It didn't come with WMP but I'll DL it. i was looking for a codec for quicktime. Thanks! 
Also, I think I have Tiger....not sure. I'm still pretty dumb about it and I never bothered to even open any of the instruction manuals.. As long as I cna use Office, iChat and Safari, I'm good to go
