How does a Kindle work?
This is probably a dumb question...but can you dowload books directly onto the kindle?
I am thinking of buying one...can someone explain how it works for me lol

yes, you buy the books right off the kindle and they arer downloaded usually in a few minutes.
You have to link a cc or a debit card when you register your kindle. Or you can buy the books off amazon.com.

It has what is called "whisper net" which is actually sprint. You can go on to amazon through your kindle and search for books, mags, blogs,newspaper etc. They are downloaded if you choose to buy them. You do not pay for the service to download, just the books.

mine came with WiFi. So I download everything right onto the kindle itself.
and I couldn't love it more.
